Liver Health Test

The LIVER-SCREEN® Liver Health Test is a rapid home screening test designed to assess liver physiological status by detecting elevated transaminase enzymes (ALT and AST) in whole blood.

These enzymes are commonly released into the bloodstream when liver cells become damaged or stressed. Therefore, this liver health test may help identify potential liver function changes using a simple finger-prick blood sample.

The test provides a convenient way to screen liver health markers from the comfort of home.

Why Liver Health Matters

The liver plays a critical role in maintaining overall health. It helps break down nutrients from food, removes toxins from the bloodstream, produces essential proteins, and stores energy for the body.

When the liver becomes stressed or damaged, several symptoms may appear, including:

• Dark urine
• Pale or light-coloured stools
• Loss of appetite
• Yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice)
• Abdominal swelling
• Weakness or extreme fatigue

Many factors may contribute to liver problems, including viral infections such as hepatitis, certain medications, heavy alcohol consumption, or metabolic conditions associated with obesity, diabetes, or high blood pressure.

How This Liver Health Test Works

The LIVER-SCREEN® Liver Health Test detects increased levels of transaminase enzymes (ALT and AST). These enzymes are commonly measured in clinical liver function tests because they rise when liver cells are injured.

The test device contains two distinct detection zones that indicate elevated transaminase levels, along with a control zone to confirm that the test has worked correctly.

To perform the test:

  1. Clean the fingertip using the alcohol pad provided.

  2. Use the sterile lancet to obtain a small blood sample.

  3. Collect the blood using the pipette.

  4. Place the sample into the test device.

  5. Add the diluent drops as instructed.

  6. Read the result after approximately 10 minutes.

Do not interpret results after 15 minutes.
