Thyroid Test for Underactive Thyroid Screening

The THYRO-CHECK® Thyroid Test is a rapid home screening test designed to help detect possible signs of underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism).

This thyroid test measures levels of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) using a small finger-prick blood sample.

TSH is produced by the pituitary gland and regulates thyroid activity. When thyroid hormone levels drop, the body releases more TSH to stimulate the thyroid gland. Therefore, elevated TSH levels may indicate an underactive thyroid.

The THYRO-CHECK® test provides a simple way to screen for this imbalance from the comfort of home.

Why a Thyroid Test May Be Helpful

Thyroid disorders are among the most common hormonal conditions worldwide, particularly in women.

An underactive thyroid can affect metabolism and many body systems.

Common symptoms may include:

• Persistent fatigue or low energy
• Unexplained weight gain
• Dry skin and brittle hair
• Feeling unusually cold
• Brain fog or forgetfulness
• Low mood or depression
• Constipation
• Menstrual irregularities

Because these symptoms often develop gradually, a thyroid test may help identify whether further medical evaluation is needed.

How the Thyroid Test Works

The THYRO-CHECK® thyroid test uses a rapid immunodiagnostic method to detect increased TSH levels in a finger-prick blood sample.

To perform the test:

  1. Wash your hands with warm water and soap.

  2. Clean the fingertip using the alcohol pad provided.

  3. Use the sterile lancet to obtain a small blood drop.

  4. Collect the blood using the plastic pipette.

  5. Place the blood sample into the test device sample well.

  6. Add the diluent drops as instructed.

The test result develops within 10 minutes.

Do not interpret the result after 15 minutes.

Important Notes Before Using the Thyroid Test

This thyroid test should not be performed while undergoing thyroid hormone treatment, as medication may affect the result.

In early pregnancy, TSH levels may naturally decrease. Therefore, results may appear lower than expected.

Always consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and interpretation of thyroid test results.
